This might sound unnecessary. Why does Google Chrome (with a single window - single tab) shows many chrome processes in task manager? And is there a way to make it show as only one? Also is this normal for chrome to consume 547.2 MB of memory off 3 GB RAM? :??:

Chrome has some built in extensions which are invisible to the user and can't be disabled. I think some of the extra processes are used for rendering and video decoding.

Google Chrome runs a lot of its extensions as separate processes. That's why there are so many.
