My Toshiba satellite U505 laptop display recently started having some display issues. Only the top half of the screen displays the images properly. But for some reason, the botton half of the screen shows only vertical lines, no images at all. I would like to know what causes this? And...is it something I can fix myself?

Your help would be truly appreciated.

Thank you,
Joseph

Sanjay,

Just curious....How are you so sure the screen is damaged? Are the vertical lines a "tell-tale" sign that its damaged? The reason I ask is because it doesn't appear to have any external physical damage.

By the way, thanks for taking the time to respond.

*** If you have any insight or suggestions for me on how to get it fixed economically....I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again,

Joseph

hmm.....the pixels and the interlaced pixels are stuck and which probably means they are damaged...............there are many unsuccesful softwares ...dont try them,,,,,,,,contact your laptop vendor or the company...maybe it is under warrenty and btw lcd screens have a life of about 4-5 yrs only
