As a 19 year old community college student, I have finally decided I what I want to do. I have always loved electronics (computers mostly) but I have set my career path to that of being a programmer of some sorts.

I am beginning on that road with my desktop that I built earlier this year in February. But I am in search of a laptop so I can do it from anywhere that I please. I am currently learning Visual Basic coding. I need a laptop for simple computing/word processing, then for programming, maybe light gaming on the side.

I am not sure if I should sacrifice CPU power/speed for RAM amount/speed, and vice vera. Could anyone give me some insights on which I should focus on more for coding and programming?

Solution
any laptop with 8g of stock ram will be fine for coding or anything you can normal toss at it. if you can wait a few weeks black friday and cyber monday are coming for good deals on laptops and pc.
