Dell Inspiron 15 3542: Help With Install of New SSD ???

Hi everyone, we just got a new Dell 15 3542 for our son for school.

I want to put a new SSD on it but need some help/guidance.

1) Which is the correct size SSD for his laptop? 7mm, 9mm, etc

2) Which Dell drivers would I need to load onto the install after installing Win 7? Audio, video, network drivers? Anything else?

If you fresh install Windows 7, you will need to install any missing drivers that don't appear in Device Manager so processor, graphics processor, wifi adapter, audio, and anything it currently has in Device Manager. Take a screenshot of Device manager as it is now to see what you need. Windows should install a lot of the stuff automatically but some you have to download online and install. As for hard drive size I would look in Device Manager at your current hard drive and look online for the size of that model.
