My brother has an Inspiron 1764 I3 that he isnt using. Problem is that I think i might be able to fix it, and if i can fix it I want to buy it from him. However I am not entirely sure that I know everything I need to know so id like to start this thread of with one question.
Seeing as how it runs off of integrated graphics, would i be able to improve graphical performance by upgrading the ram in the compter? I am used to desktops, so im not exactly sure how integrated graphics works

Solution
Integrated graphics have their own graphics memory just like dedicated GPUs do. I think they will use some of the computer's RAM if needed. Increasing RAM would only help if the RAM is filled. If 50% RAM is filled, adding RAM will make no improvement. To improve graphical performance, a new processor would be required with better integrated graphics, which requires research as to what socket your laptop motherboard uses and if the current one is soldered to it.

okay and lastly, does anyone know if using a home vaccume would be safe AT ALL with the computer i want to fix. From what iv known with desktops this is more often than not a NO GO because of the static they generate.
