laptop turns off within two minutes and makes a ding noise

I got this laptop in may its been working fine the screen has been cracked for a month so i connected it to my vga tv and it works. A week ago i left it on i came home and the power button was blinking so i took out he battery and held down for a couple seconds i had to this multiple times now it turns on but it turns off withn two minutes and the picture doesnt appear on the tv

Sounds damaged.

Try running just the BIOS interface instead so we know it's not related to Windows. If it shuts down again your laptop is likely FUBAR'd.

If it doesn't shut off in the BIOS mode, try burning an Ubuntu disc and boot to that (don't install it) and see if it can run.
