Ok, so I've had McAfee awhile now, never really had any trouble with it that didn't have an easy fix. But recently I've started school And I want my portable applications on my flash drive for school use. The thing is, McAfee, keeps on putting my stuff in a quarantine, and restoring is useless because it just puts it right back into quarantine. Very unhappy with this. Any fix before McAfee is entirely removed from my computer permanently?

AVG and Avast's free versoins are fond of trying to trick you into upgrading to the paid-for versions - Microsoft's does not!

When you bought Windows software, you also paid for Windows Defender. Microsoft Security Essentials comes free and works in conjunction with Defender and the two work quite efficiently together. Download it from Microsoft's site and set it to scan once a week at a time when you can leave the machine switched on. Limit it to 30% of resources so if you're working on the machine, you won't notice it running in the background. It updates itself when it sniffs an internet connection.

Also, only download a fresh version of MalwareBytes whenever you feel the need for it.
