Hey everyone,
I am new here and have a question concerning a video edit laptop.
Everyone says that SSDs are the most important thing. But I also would like to have an i7 processor and 16GB RAM. There wouldn't be that much money for a decent SSD...

So I found this system from dell:
http://m.dell.com/mt/www.dell.com/de/p/xps-15-9530/pd?fl=m&fl=m&oc=cnx9511

I will mainly use it for premiere pro and after effects. My budget is 1700-2000 US$.

So this has everything I need and a 1 TB HDD on top. But just 32 GB SATA boot SSD..

Is this enough for mobile video editing. The laptop would also be my workhorse, but it has to be mobile, so I can't go for a desktop PC..

Thanks in advance for your answers. :)

If they are meant to be separate drives, the 32GB for the OS is far too small.
Usually, though, a 32GB SSD is in there as a cache drive. I still wouldn't get it.

It should do well but it's overpriced, it is not worth 1499EURS*1.33USD$/1EUR in any way, I would pay 800$ at most for that.
i7 4712HQ 2.3Ghz 3.3Ghz @ turbo boost
16GB memory
1TB 5400rpm
2GB nvidia gtx 750m
3k screen

The screen is very good. Nevertheless, I would still not pay more than 1000$ for that

Thanks for your answer. Sorry if hveto ask. But do you mean the 32GB SSD would be fine?
Myself as a completly PC n00b would say that the processor and RAM make a good setup. I really don't know how important SSDs really are for editing.

By the way: my old desktop setup is i3, 4GB RAM and a crappy ATI graphics... :D
