Hi All,

Used the site to check a lot of stuff before building my gaming PC, so thought I'd ask the above (and below) question:

Beyerdynamic dt990 pro (250ohm) vs Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro

I mainly game, playing FPS (Bf3 and Bf4). Will also use them to listen to music. No movies.

1. I Can't afford (read don't want to pay) for the 600ohm DT990's
2. I like the look of the COP, the fact it has a detachable cord, can attach a mic etc
3. COP also has the bass adjustment
4. DT990 is open, COP is closed. (apples and oranges, but I still want to know which is better for gaming)

Would probably put either with the Xonar Essence STX, altho happy to take opinions on a different set up.

So! Which will be a better option for gaming. I'd don't do it professionally, so I want some "fun" bass but a good soundstage for positional audio cues.

Cheers in advance

The Hizz

Custome One Pro (bassy) is good for the price.

The other alternatives are, those I have at home:
V-Moda M100 (bassy)
AudioTechnica ATH-M50 (bassy)
Bose QC15 (neutral)

I never tried DT990, sope..I have no comments on that one..

Hi! thanks for the quick answer, it's good to hear you have the sets you described at home.

I've read a few reviews of the M50s and come to the conclusion I don't want to go with them. I'm not looking for over bassy due to wanting good sound positional que's in game. I thought the COP might be the way to go due to its 4 level base modifier?

I've started to see the V-Moda pop up in reviews though too, so will start reviewing that one.
