Hi,

I had to take an ASUS 1015PX netbook apart due to a broken screen hinge. However, when I put it back together and try to boot it, it seems to overheat within minutes with the fan going into overdrive, and shuts down. The last message was that it had reached a critical temperature of 101 degrees celcius and was shutting down. [I'm running Debian 7 Linux on it, but it was working fine until recently.]

I must have done something when I took it apart, but for the life of me I can't figure of what. I've just taken it apart again, and everything seems to be connected correctly. I also give the fan a blast with compressed air in case it was clogged up with gunk, but that didn't help.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas ?

Thanks
Rgds
Neil.

Hi, I can't remember seeing a heatsink, but it doesn't mean that I didn't disturb it by mistake.

I'll have to find a motherboard manual and take a closer look.

Thanks
Neil.
