A couple of weeks ago, I accidentally deleted a contact that I just now realized I need.
I searched Google for answers, but only found Gmail backup (it didn't bother recording phone number contacts, only emails) and shady 3-rd party restoration software. Well, what the hell, against all gut instincts I tried the software, and after the scan and several restarts of my phone, nothing yielded.
I know that most laptops have a "reserve" trash bin that gets emptied out by the system every so often, so there's a chance for file recovery. Is there something similar I can manually find on my phone?
Can I somehow somewhere find the contact I deleted, or is it game over?

Solution
As far as I've ever known, phones don't have a "trash" that retains deleted items until it's emptied. I think it's probably game over for that contact. You could contact Samsung support as they could probably tell you more or try to connect it to your computer and browse the contents to see if there is a backup file somewhere.
