i want to buy a laptop and i'm confused between two..one is hp envy 15t with i7 4710mq and gtx 850m(ddr3) 4GB of graphics memory..other is acer aspire v3 with i5 4210m and gtx 850m(gddr5) 2GB of graphics memory..both have 1080p display
my question is which will give more fps while playing battlefield 4 keeping in account the above mentioned differences?

The HP Envy may have more VRAM, but it is running DDR3 as opposed to the GDDR5 in the Acer. GDDR5 will most likely make more difference than going from 2GB VRAM to 4GB on this card. Obviously the processor in the Envy is still better, so if the other hardware is the same for both I would still agree on the HP Envy.

In fact, you can even see in the link to notebookcheck.net by clicking on individual FPS scores for BF4, the 65.1 score is with GDDR5, all the other scores are DDR3, including one with 4GB.

Then the HP Envy 15t is the best choice out of the two. If you have a budget, and don't mind me looking one for you then do tell me. But anyways the HP Envy 15t is the best.

Here's one I found.
http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Y50-Laptop-Computer-Generation/dp/B00K71W5SC

I didn't get what you mean by "otherwise" so I'll say what I think you are trying to say.

An i5 will be the best choice of you are not video or photo editing because of tis 8 threads.

An 860M will be much better.
