So I'm looking for a laptop that will run 25-man raids in WoW at something more than 5 fps. Yes, you read that right. My current laptop runs at 5 fps (if not less) in 25-man raids (lowest graphics settings and resolutions). Obviously, I need an upgrade.

I really don't need a laptop that will run it on Ultra, but at least 720p resolution is a must. Again, we're shooting for acceptable framerates in 25-man raids, because dying on Durumu the Forgotten every single time is getting boring.

And again, I don't care if it's the lowest graphics settings, so long as it works at fullscreen, 720p.

Budget for this is in the $500-$750 range, and no, anything more than $750 really isn't possible for me.

Thanks!

What are the specs of your current laptop? I have a gaming computer that drops to abot 15fps in large raids, even on Medium settings where it runs on Ultra at 40-60 frames in all other areas and 10 man dungeons. That system is probably as fast as a $1,000 laptop would be.

Did you add the cost of selling your current laptop into your budget? Maybe you can hit 1k which will give you a pretty nice system for gaming. Or did you think about building a desktop? For $500 you can get a pretty good system for WOW, not including monitor. Maybe build a gaming desktop and use your current laptop for what you would need portability for.

Current Laptop

HP Pavilion dv6700

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 @ 2.00 Ghz

Gpu: Integrated, Intel GM-965 Chipset, 128 MB dedicated VRam (356 MB shared)

I'm assuming no one will want this, even chromebooks are better than this, so selling is out of the question for me. Also, been having a TON of hardware issues with this, so I'd be pretty uncomfortable selling it to someone. Will probably keep it though, for everyday usage, and save the new one for gaming.

After looking over some stuff, I could *probably* stretch my budget to $1k.
