Sorry to dissapoint you, but 840m is only DDR3 64 bit. 8850m is DDR5 at 128 bit. And the 4510u is insignificantly better than 4500u. Option 3 is the best choice here.

Notice OP's first post. His version is DDR3. Plus MANY games use more than 2gb.

Uhm... Yea. It is the VRAM. VRAM stands for Video RAM. Plus no computer comes with DDR5 RAM. I think you are very confused right now.

First one still wins I would say. When playing a real game you will use much more than 2gb of VRAM

I guess fps are pretty much the same between those cards. I'd take the first one just because I like intel more than amd and because it's got more (2x) vram. I'd take the third one because ddr5 > ddr3.

edit: I made two mistakes in this post (I don't really know what got into me), read Nvidia and Radeon instead of intel and amd

Haha...NO! The VRAM only counts for multi-monitor arangements and huge resolutions. In terms of gaming performance, the GPU clock counts the most and the bandwidth. SO, since the 8850m is GDDR5 and 128bit and with a Vclock up to 725 (auto boost) is better than gt 840m which is only GDDR3 and 64 bit. I know very well that that specific configuration comes with 8850m, 8GB of ram, i7 4500u and 1TB of space. In conclusion the 3rd one is the better choice.

Have you ever gamed on 2gb and then switched to even 3gb? I suppose not. HUGE DIFFERENCE! And 1080p is huge? Because you can easily surpass 2gb on 1080p and I have many times. Plus the 840m clocks in at 1ghz in most applications.

are you sure it's not the System Memory who is ddr3? I am pretty sure the 8850m is ddr5.
Anyway, in case it's ddr3 then go for the Nvidia as both GPUs are pretty much the same but the gt840 is Nvidia, (As I stated in an earlier post I tend to prefer Nvidia), it has 2x the vram, and it is clocked higher

840m. Lots of reasons. Low power consumption, high performance, double the ram, higher clock, newer series. I don't see what isn't appealing.

I have personally seen 840m's in person mind you with 8gb VRAM
