So I got this old laptop I wanna upgrade, its Asus G60JX. I wanna add a ocz vertex 2 ssd drive and win 8.1, I have a win 8.1 iso cd from a desktop I just built and was wondering if I could use that same cd in the laptop with a new product key I just got. And also should I be using 32 bit or a 64 bit os?

As long as the key is for that version. In other words Home, Pro, and Ultimate and so forth.

You can't use 2 systems with the same Key. Also if you're running more then 4 Gigs of ram you need 64bit.

As long as the product key you have matches your disc, go ahead. I would also recommend the 64-bit version if you've the option. And just to reiterate, you need one unique product key per computer you wish to run Windows 8.1 on. Good luck with your upgrades - they sound like they should breathe some new life into your laptop. I easily gained 10% battery life when I upgraded to 8 years ago, which might not sound like much until you translate it into about an extra half-hour of run time from the battery.
