My Asus I had gotten a few weeks ago will not charge. Now I know I cannot take my battery out, because it said so on the manual. It was charging fine a day ago. I have it plugged in. Last night it would not charge, so I thought,'Well it must be a bit over heated.' So I flipped it over so it could breathe. I checked the computer when I woke up the next day, and it had not charged! Could someone help me?

If you have a multimeter, you can check the power supply to see if it's putting out any juice. Is the little light on it lit when plugged in?

If there's enough power remaining on battery to boot your laptop, or it will boot when plugged in, does the battery status indicator in the taskbar show it to be charging?

If the power supply checks out, but it won't charge, you're kind of limited in your options for trouble-shooting and remediation. If you're still in the return window for your retailer, I would request an exchange or refund. If not, you'll need to request an RMA (Return of Merchandise Authorization) from Asus. You can do this through the Support page on the Asus website.

I'm having the same problem my laptop only turns on when its plugged in and I check if its charging and the indicator says "0% available plugged in charging " 2 hours later still the same I've put it to sleep and the same thing when it wakes up. I just updated my computer to windows 10 could that be a factor?

I am also having the exact same problem with ASUS TP300LA. Worked fine for about 1 week then "0% available plugged in charging" but no charge. Tried recalibrating batteries, reinstalling ACPI drivers, updating to winidows 10 (no difference), installing bio/driver updates from ASUS for Win 10 still no go.

I'm on phone with Asus tech support, and as expected they want me to send in "because it appears you have problem with battery" which is ridiculous since I bought this a few weeks ago for son going to college in 2 weeks and they want me to send entire laptop to timbuktu to replace battery.

Totally unacceptable. I'm still on hold waiting for 2nd level support - but not hopeful. So far not loving ASUS and I own multiple routers, switches, monitors and two new laptops!!

BTW - You can remove/unplug battery but have to remove 10 screws and backcover (not difficult). Initial prying of back cover a little tricky but once done easy to remove. Then CAREFULLY remove battery cable by gently pressing down on connector and then lifting up (very tricky so be patient).

And if you are trying to recalibrate/reset battery - good luck it doesn't work!
