I have a ASUS K53TK that is one years old but I've been recently getting a problem (everything is fine, just curious). When the power adapter is plugged in, sometimes it will flash the power and battery lights. I have no idea why though, which seems stupid. I thought it was the power adapter, so I got a new one. But this still happens. Sometimes the tip where is plugs into the PC is very warm... Any suggestions?

We had same issue on my mates one. Took it to pc repair place thinking charger port stuffed but it wasnt and when it was in his shop. Didnt do it. So gets it home and does it again. It does it once he's on the net and opens a new page. So we looked power setting. It was on high performance as it should be with it plugged in. So we tryed powergear battery saver mode and guess what. It hasnt done it since. I know its no good maybe for gameing side of things but if you want it not flashing up, try that guys. It has to be software issue. Ive seen disable hcontrol.exe in task manger. We havent tryed it but if it comes back,we will try that next time. Hope it helps some of you.
Does it do it when the battery is removed. Have you checked the battery health? Often when power and battery related lights begin flashing, that didn't used to flash, it's an indicator of a bad power supply adapter or battery that may be beginning to fail or has lost charging capacity. What version of Windows are you running? If you're running windows 8 you can use the Windows 8 battery battery report. Instructions are located here:

If you're using Windows 7 you can find many battery health utilities for free like this one:

I founded that its linked to power consumtion, with unplugged battery it just turned off.
Looks like power adapter just reset connection and until replugget connector its flashes and notebook works on bbattery.
Ithought dat happens because i changed A4 to A8, so power consumtion increased. Trying ac-dc from asus x53u made diods flash witout load on hi power.
i'll try to find out more powerfull adapter and connect to my laptop
