What is a great gaming TV for $500 or less?

Hey everyone! I have had the hardest time trying to find the perfect TV for my situation. I have been looking for the past 1-2 months and cannot seem to find a TV with my needs. This is my situation:

- Size: 40" +
- Resolution: 1080p
- Refresh Rate: 120Hz +
- Ports: 2+ HDMI, 1+ Component
- Price Range: $500 or less (unless you happen upon an incredible TV)

- I own a PS4, PS3, and Wii U - The main use of the TV will be HD gaming (primarily First-Person Shooters)
- I love to watch HD movies as well via Blu Ray (PS4) and an AppleTV.
- The average viewing distance from the couches to the stand is 6-8 feet.
- The room lighting is pretty low-lit.
- I do not want a Smart TV - pretty pointless since I have a PS4 and AppleTV that does everything.

Is there anything you recommend that fits my personal preferences? I probably sound pretty picky but if you could help me out I would deeply appreciate it! Thanks in advance everyone

that should hit your price range the low rating is due to the smart TV features on the TV. But understand that most 120hz TV's are Smart TV's so.... But anyways this is a "Clear Motion 240hz" TV that is in truth a 120hz TV. Current marketing terms hide the hz details. So any "marketing term" 120hz TV is not really a 120hz TV. Just a 60hz with a faster processor.

Thank you for your reply! I appreciate your willingness to help! So two things. 1) I forgot to mention that I need at least two HDMI ports and at least 1 Component... I looked and couldn't seem to find any component feature. 2) Does the Smart features have to be on? Can I treat it as a TV without Smart features?

1) Samsung does list the TV as having a component input along with a composite.
2) It isn't really an on/off feature. But on most Smart TV's I've used you won't notice it unless you press the button for that option. Although you will notice a fancier options menu for changing settings and they are usually smarter when it comes to dealing with advanced HDMI features. Although at this price it is going to be on the low end of Smart TV's. So yeah you will be able to treat it as just a TV and that is probably how you will see it most of the time

Ok perfect! I found a picture involving the back of the TV and it in fact does have component! Thank you! Also, you mentioned that you have used a few TV's. I'm just curious if you have personally used this TV?

Not this particular TV no. I've been able to tinker with TV's in stores demonstrating features to customers for a bit and have messed with a few others for friends/family along with my own. This particular Samsung model is more recent than the ones I have touched.

Ok awesome! So last question, I have been looking at this TV the past few weeks. What do you of this LG?

That should work about the same although of course being 7" bigger than the 40" Samsung. They are both 120hz TV's.
