I took the battery out, hold the power button for thirty seconds, but it didn't work. Nothing is wrong with the charger. No damage is done to it. Everything is fine. I only had the laptop for an year now. Help me, please.

REPLY: My ASUS laptop did the EXACT same thing last night and I tried a few things (see below). But when I plugged my ASUS laptop into a new powerpoint in my city office this morning, it all worked perfectly. Initially I thought it might have been my "ZapCatcher" anti-shock plugset at home causing a poor connection but tonight, it all works fine in both the ZapCatcher plug and in a normal wall powerpoint. Maybe the ZapCatcher reset itself - but I doubt it.

I went onto ASUS Members site and ran "Update Now" last night but it said I was fully up to date. Maybe that helped update the battery control system when I shut-down last night? I also went into My Devices and tried to update all drivers for the power management systems but it said "already updated". Maybe this tweaked something?? I doubt it.

Everything is back to normal tonight - touch wood. No real explanation. But it proves there is an issue that needs solution.

I have lodged a request on ASUS Members and if the reply from ASUS makes any new points, I'll add them to these comments.
