The light on power button won't turn on?

I got a Toshiba satellite U840 but the light on the power button which turns on when I turn on my computer doesn't light up, it used to work earlier but not now. I need urgent help on this matter, help please.....Once in a while it sometimes work, is there a timer mode or something i have to change?

Does the laptop still work ok ?
If it does not effect the laptop in any way why worry about it.
It just means the LED light is broken.
Nothing major wrong.

I have similar problem with my U840. Suddenly it just went DEAD. At first I though it had run out of battery, But with the power adaptor on, the batt LED first showed Orange colour, soon it will turn White. But pressing on the power button has no effect at all. No fan sound, no light on power button, simply nothing. Confirm not harddisk problem as I have just taken out harddisk and found data ok. But I really want to keep this laptop. What could have done wrong?
