Hi all, I am looking for options on how to stream music, movies, etc within our new house.
At the old house, I had a laptop set up in our kitchen island with all my external hard drives so I could play all my music on itunes to my delight, hooked up to a small ipod dock w/speakers.
Unfortunately, in the new house, which is much more broken up, having the externals accompany my laptop is not an option so I now have them hooked up to my upstairs HTC which I use for watching movies, tv shows, etc after downloading them.
It's a HUGE pain to download music on my laptop then use a jump drive to take them to my upstairs computer to be added to itunes and/or stored in the external.
In a perfect world, I would be able to wirelessly stream my music from itunes on my laptop to other parts of the house, or in other words, have the externals set up somewhere else away from my laptop, and that would include the use of wireless speakers since right now I have the privilege of listening to music on my crappy laptop speakers!!
Please help a guy out!! I have no idea how to procees other then purchasing a very expensive system such as Sonos and would like to see what other options are out there.
