Hi, I really need a help.
I bought a notebook yesterday, installed dota and had a surprise, this is my spec:
- Notebook Sony Vaio Fit SVF15N17CB
- Intel Core i7 4500U 1.8GHz (Turbo boost 3.0 ghz)
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits (BUT COME WITH WIN8, I JUST FORMATED)
- RAM 8gb ddr3 sdram
- 15,5 '' LED full HD triluminous 1920x1080 wide 16:9
- Intel HD graphics 4400
- Nvidia GeForce GT 735M

It's NOT a problem with specs, I got fps drops after some time playing
I realized that, no matter my settings, even running at 120 fps, it will fall after a time playing, probably due to a temperature threshold.
Even the temperature reaching only 72-74, the fps keeps dropping when it reaches that temperature.
My last attempt was to format the computer, installed windows 7, dota is running at 120 fps, but after a while the game fps drops (same problem).
I also tried to enter the BIOS, but it is limited by being a InsydeH20, I do not have any settings on the ADVANCED tab to change temperature threshold.
So:
PROBLEM: cpu or motherboard or gpu DOWNCLOCKING after a time playing (reaching 65 - 72 C in CPU/MBoard and 60max at GPU), fps dropping to 20 > 30 > 50
SOLVE: Trying to find a solution.

how this can solve my problem? because 72 degrees can be considered a "common" temperature for an notebook ingame.
if it had reached 90-95 degrees, probably a pad could help

If it's maintaining 72'C even though it is being throttled than for some reason your thermal limit is set lower than usual, but a cooling pad will still keep it cooler for longer.

I downloaded CPUZ and noticed this:
When I got fps drop:
CPU Core #0 = 798MHz
CPU Core #1 = 798MHz
Intel HD Graphics = 147MHz

Normal 120FPS:
CPU Core #0 = 2693MHz x27 - 2992MHz x30
CPU Core #1 = 2693MHz x27 - 2992MHz x30
Intel HD Graphics = 1047MHz

so?

U need tell me how to do that first.. Discrete adapter is Nvidia gpu ? If yes tell me how to do that.

Go to you nividia control panel and select the game where it says select a program. If the game is not shown you can manually add it by going to add and then navigating to the game. Then under preferred graphics choose the dedicated graphics. The program is normally under C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client.
