Hi, I'm looking to buy a new laptop. I'm going to be using it for school and hope I can get one that'll last for a good few years. I'd like to be able to play games on it comfortably (preferably on high settings, at least). Games I usually play include: CS:GO, Minecraft, Unturned, DayZ, Arma 3, etc. Need one with decent battery life that I can bring around campus, but I should be able to plug it in mostly anyway.

I'm willing to spend ~$1200, but I can go a bit higher if it's necessary.

I live in the United States.

From what I've seen, the Y50 from lenovo looks to be a good option, but I'm not sure if there is anything better out there that I should be aware of.

Any help is appreciated.

Solution
In that price range, the Lenovo Y50 is most likely your BEST option. A better GPU will cost $1400+ (870M) and it generally produces more heat.

The 860M will handle all your gaming needs and it'll last awhile. :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

I was looking at the Y50 models and some offer the 860M 2GB and others the 4GB. Would there be any difference in performance between the two models? I don't see myself needing 16gb of ram either, so I'll be able to save some money if I choose one of the 8gb ram models. Just not sure which 860m I should go with.
