I have a Goodman flat screen (around 8 years old) but it doesnt have a USB port so I cant use my Roku streaming stick that way. It was suggested using the VGA port. I havent a clue. What would I need to use or buy so I can use my Roku.
You need to use the Roku 1, 2 or 3 since these do not require a USB port. They do need an HDMI input. If you don't have HDMI you would have to convert the HDMI to the correct audio and video connection on your TV. This would convert HDMI to VGA http/www.amazon.com/HDMI-VGA-converter-Audio-Converter/dp/B003O55U8K

Great article Marse. For those who live outside US like me, you can access Netflix, Hulu and similar media stations on your Roku by using UnoTelly or similar tools.
