Whether to buy i3 or i5 laptop

I am planning to buy a new lap top.. i will be usign this computer to do create power point presentation and may be opening 5-8 files together for multiple processing.. these files can be documents, excel files or power point files.. making links in one file from another... i will be using low res photos in the power point files also.. should I go for i3 4th generation or i5 3rd generation.. the difference is Rs. 10,000.. ($165)... please advise

For what you're going to be using the computer for, you will not notice any difference between an i3 and i5 performance wise. You may get better battery life with the forth gen i3. I would recommend going with the i3 and using the saved money to upgrade the hard drive to a solid state. The hard drives that come with computers at those price points are really slow.

yes an i3 with a ssd will be noticeably faster. would recommend buying ssd from samsung or crucial first. if you cant find any then go with sandisk

+1 For the above, Totally agree, i5 Processors are more for gaming and for what your doing, An i3 with Hyperthreading is more than enough.
