Hey guys,

I am currently looking to buy a laptop used for gaming with a budget of around $1200. I will also use it for lots of essay typing so it needs to have a good keyboard. I've considered many options such as the Lenovo Y510's and Y50's as well as the MSI GE60's and GP's etc. I want to hear some feedback on what you think the pros and cons are of these laptops compared. More importantly, are there any other laptop brands you would recommend for this price range? Maybe there are more models I am missing like the ones on ibuypower.com? I'm very confused and tired of pointlessly configuring and re configuring laptops on all these websites- please guide me!

Thanks

This price range is always troublesome, a lot of people know your confusion!
most places that do custom laptops either use the MSI barebones or the clevo barebones. Though ibuypower have now got the gigabyte barebones but they're a wee bit out your price range.
if we're doing a straight out price war, then this: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np7358-clevo-w350ss-eta-july-p-6991.html?wconfigure=yes
is your best bet. since in your budget you can fit an OS and a 120GB samsung ssd.
however the y50 is also a solid choice. Just IMO the sager is better.
