Which laptop should I go for?

Hello, I've been looking for a decent gaming laptop recently, and I've narrowed my options down to two laptops. Both of which are in the Asus ROG series. The two laptops are the G750JX-DS77 and the G750JM. The specs of each are as follows:

G750JX:
RAM: 16GB
CPU: Intel i7-4700HQ @ 2.4 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 770M w/3GB VRAM
HDD: 750GB @ 5400RPM

G750JM:
RAM: 12GB
CPU: Intel i7-4700HQ @ 2.4 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 860M w/2GB VRAM
HDD: 1TB @ 5400RPM

The major difference is in the RAM and GPU. I just can't decide which is best. RAM can always be updated, so the main focus is on the GPU. After looking at benchmarks, it seems that the 860M seems to perform slightly better. My question is, should I give up the 3GB VRAM and 16GB of RAM for 2GB VRAM (with slightly better benchmarks) and 12GB of RAM? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Unless your laptop screen is >1080p (unlikely) then 2GB VRAM will be more than acceptable.
The problem with a laptops GPU (in general), compared to a desktop equivalent or better, is that they have much less horsepower and generally have certain features paired down, meaning that you are going to run out of acceptable playability before you run out of VRAM.

I see, well, being that the prices are very close between these two laptops, are you recommending that I go with the 860M w/2GB VRAM and 12GB RAM instead of the 770M w/3GB VRAM and 16GB RAM? I mean, that is the ultimate question after all. I'm buying this laptop, and I need it to last quite a while (3-4 years). In that time, I'd like to avoid upgrading any components. My worry is, while 2GB VRAM is more than enough now, will it be in 1-2 years? Regardless of what the answer is, the 860M w/2GB VRAM performs slightly better than the 770M. That is really what I'm struggling with.
