Best Blu-ray Player (for cheap)?

Hey guys, so I'm going to buy a Blu-ray player (not a drive) fairly soon and was wondering, what's the absolute best Blu-ray player at the cheapest price? I guess I'm really asking which Blu-ray player has the best price to performance ratio. Normally I'd be busy putting hours of research into something like this but I just don't have the time right now so I was wondering what's the best I can get? If it can stay at around $50 or lower that'd be fantastic. It doesn't need any streaming apps or anything like that, it just has to be able to play 1080p media at 30 Hz, connect via HDMI, accept Blu-ray disks, DVDs, and CDs, and that's pretty much it. I'm open to buying refurbished, but iffy about buying used or whatever off of eBay. Thanks!

Just look at various online stores at the BUDGET you want, then look at the Customer average scores.

All BluRay players will do what you want, you just mainly want:

a) Reasonable QUALITY, and
b) No obvious other issues (can't think of any right now)

Also, if you don't have an HDMI cable then get an inexpensive one through Monoprice or wherever but don't pay too much. A six-foot cable is roughly $10 or less.

I know you said $50 or cheaper, but looking at the prices and comments I recommend the above $68 Samsung (FREE SHIPPING as well). It's got a 4.5/5 average score with over 1000 comments so it's well established as a good product.

You can try going cheaper, maybe you'll find a sale but I wouldn't go cheaper unless you find a product with comparable QUALITY.

There is always the PS3, there is always someone trying to sell one so they can get money for the PS4. So they can play everything you want and you can have the benefit of playing PS3 games if you choose. And there is remotes you can get, even though the controllers are easy to use as well. For $50 cash, there are plenty of takers especially if they don't want credit by taking it into gamestop.

A ps3 wouldn't work, even if I got one for dirt cheap. This player is going to be a for an elderly relative who doesn't have the time, patience, or ability to use anything that isn't popping a disk in. So far I think I'm really looking at the $68 samsung, but I'm still open to any other suggestions. Thanks, guys.
