Hi,

I have DishNetwork cable but I don't want to pay $5 per month to have free basic channels. From the DishNetwork Customer service, I understand I need some converter/adapter to get the free/basic channels.

What kind of converter do we need and how will i connect?

Thanks
p.s.we have analog TV

There is no alternative to paying dish network for basic channels. If you want to use dish network, you will have to pay them for converter / adapter. The system is proprietary, you cant add your own equipment to tune channels. Your dish network receiver is authorized by dish network to allow these channels, no other way.
The only alternative available is to put up your own antenna to receive local channels, off regular on air...
