I have a pretty new Lenovo y400 laptop and it used to work fine, but now I'm have battery problems. The laptop recognizes that there is a battery, but it every time I unplug the charger, the laptop immediately shuts off.

The battery charge still fluctuates but the laptop doesn't seem to use the battery at all. Any suggestions?

Edit: Changing the battery does not solve the problem

Hi, the old and the new battery will not power the laptop. You have to look at the common components you have, you have the battery connector, look for anything blocking the contacts. You have also the components inside the laptop, the charging circuit must have a component defective. You need to return the laptop to be repair.

Oh i switched the battery with a brand new one. Still didn't solve anything

Then I will suggest a reset here, remove battery, unplug power adapter then press and hold power button for ~30 seconds. Put battery back in, plug in adapter (just to make sure battery is charged enough) and power up. Shut down if enough charge on battery and try then with battery only.

I reset it and it still wouldn't turn on. I assume there's something wrong on the inside, and I may have to return it to the manufacturer. Any other ideas?
