I currently have a Dell Inspiron 1545 which is displaying some vertical lines on the left side of the LCD. When I tilt the screen some of the lines may go but some new lines may show up. I was thinking of replacing the LCD ribbon cable. How can I fix this issue?

Go to Dell support' site, and check whether there are service manuals published for your laptop (use the service tag for faster access). There you might find a procedure how to replace your LCD.

Hi, I don't think the problem is coming from the ribbon cable of the LCD, it's the screen who is defective. You will need a new screen, the number you need to change the screen is written on the back of it. You can try the ribbon cable, it's the least expensive.
