I own an Asus N56Vb, which I use for my studies but also for gaming as well. It has air vents on its left side. I know that most laptops have their air vents on the bottom and therefore it is recommended to use cooling pads with these laptops.
My question is whether I should get a cooling pad myself, would it help even though the air vents are on the side. If it would help, are any cooling pads specifically designed for this laptop that you could recommend, again, since it's air vents are on the side?
Another question is, would putting such a pad beneath my laptop improve it's performance when playing games? It sounds logical but I preferred to ask anyway.
