Hi! I have a Toshiba 32C120U model that I just bought last year. I only use it every weekend. All of a sudden it won't turn on. When I press power button either from the TV/remote, the only thing it does is green light comes on and post the "Toshiba" logo and then will go blank black. And does not receive commands from the TV buttons/remote. I tried updating the firmware through a USB stick, the USB stick lights on when I attached it but nothing is showing on the TV. I tried detaching all the connected devices and unplugging it but nothing happens. What could be the problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Ahhh this old chestnut, my Toshiba does the same.

Pull the mains cable out or switch off at mains plug.

Press and hold the power button on the TV for 30-60 seconds to discharge.

Power back on.

Static electricity build up is know to knock out the controller board, a pain in the but, but only happended twice in 3 years.

dang this worked for me but after a minute it stoped working. I would even unplug/plug again and it would work for just another minute. I was desperate so I popped off the little cover over the ir sensor and blew some air in there and now it works! Dust perhaps? something else to try anyway.
