Can I replace my 14.8v laptop battery with an 11.1v?

I ordered a replacement battery for my Acer Aspire 6530 online and didn't get what I asked for. Customer service complaints aside, I keep finding conflicting answers online (and from Acer) about whether this is a problem. Plain and simple: Can I use a battery with lower voltage, or will it not supply enough power to my components?

Ok... because I definitely charged it to 100% and have been running on battery for a little over an hour and a half now. And I was able to play a game with it while running on only battery.

Edit: Just to be clear, I am talking about the actual battery pack, not my inverter/PSU. A lot of the threads I have found online keep talking about the power supply. I still have my original 19v 4.74A power supply, which I have no issues with. From what I understand, HIGH voltage is bad for components and will fry them, mAh doesn't affect anything except the maximum load the battery can handle, and LOW voltage shouldn't cause any problems with my laptop. Is that correct?

The 19v charger is what came with the laptop and the original 14.8v battery when I bought it from Acer...

Basically what I'm getting at is that if Acer gave me the wrong charger to begin with, and then proceeded to give me the wrong battery for that charger, I should seriously consider getting my next laptop from somewhere else.
