Hi, I'm thinking about buying a laptop mostly for playing The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 as well. I'm kinda stuck with choosing between 3 models, I really need help and hope to get a good advice, thanks.

So the models are:
HP Envy TouchSmart 15.6" (AMD A-10 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB, graphics is AMD Radeon HD 8650G)

MSI 15.6" (iCore i5 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB, graphics is Nvidia GeForce GT 820M)

Acer Aspire 17.3" (iCore5 2.6 GHz, 1TB, graphics is Nvidia GeForce GT 850M 2GB)

I am not concern about what type of CPU should I choose and most of all which graphic card is Bette :(

Solution
The GT 850m is by far the most powerful GPU. The integrated Radeon HD 8650g is a little more powerful than the GT 820m.

While the A10 is a quad core CPU, each core is relatively weak compared to each Intel CPU core. At the same clockspeed it's probably about a 40% difference in raw performance. However, the Core i5 CPUs are all dual core CPUs.

When it comes to games, you want the most powerful GPU and that is the GT 850m which is considered a high end mobile GPU. The GT 820m and the Radeon HD 8650g falls into the budget / value end of mobile GPUs.

Solution
From what I have read, the Sims 3 only displays graphics at 30 FPS even if the GPU can render up to 90 FPS. That means your GPU can potentially be working extra hard consuming more power and generating a lot more heat than necessary.

Google around for "Sims 3 FPS limiter" or something like that.

Thank you so much. Guess I finally made my decision. And I googled there is a mod which is working kinda like a FPS limiter, so Im definitely gonna use it.
