windows 8.1 after update laptop sreen blinks

hi

i have a lenovo laptop, i did an update on windows 8.1, after update is done, laptop restarts and windows start to open, then screen starts to blink, i tried doing a system restore by using F8, but it dose not restore even after i go through the process to do a system restore. is the any other way.

factory restore...

Or go looking for the update and uninstall it from Safe Mode.... if you can get there

Your graphics driver need an update, you may need to get a tech savy friend to boot into a repair mode so that you can download and apply the new drivers

I had the same issue. I realised that a 3rd party start menu app called "startisback" was causing this. resolved using the following:

1. Go To Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+Del)
2.Run new task- Chrome.exe
3. Download and install Revo Uninstaller (if already Installed, skip step 2 and 3)
4. Back to task manager
5. Type Revouninstaller.exe
6. uninstall startisback (or any apps that you feel would conflict with the windows 8.1 taskbar)
NB: use basic unistall on this programme.
