Hi, so I have an MSI GT70 and I HATE it! Nothing but problems from this POS, I'll never buy from MSI again.

Anyways, the first charger I got died, bought a new one, that one died, got another one that worked but then the battery died, bought a new battery and the charger and battery won't work.

Before taking it apart I concluded it must be the power jack so I ordered a new one. I just took the thing apart and it's all burnt around the power jack, see picture below. I've been going back and forth thinking about just piecing the laptop out and selling it or just selling as is.

If I solder it (don't have much soldering experience) will it work or by the picture does the motherboard look bad and need to be replaced. If that's the case I'm for sure going to sell it.

Thank you for your time.

Hi, I can replace the DC jack on the motherboard and it will function, but I'm an experience technician, I know how to solder the worst connections you can have. If you don't have much experience in soldering, the best thing you can do is to sell the laptop.
