My lap is sony vaio sve14a15fn..Recently,strange things happening. My Win 7 not updating and Avast Anti virus also not updating..Showing Update failed..And Avast showing malware detected everytime i login even after whole scan and deleted all detected files...
I know this is because of virus(damn virus)

My laptop doesn't came with any Windows 7 DVD(pre installed)..I did some google and found that we need to recover it on DVD and use it to reinstall...
With all those malware stuff in my laptop,if i recover it to dvd, won't they also store on DVD....

Tell me all ways to reinstall fresh and clean OS without any hassle..Between i have External HDD i can copy all my important stuff on to that..

4 probable solutions:

1. Use the Recovery function to refresh directly from the recovery partition

2. There might be functionality to create a set of Restore DVD's

3. Buy a set from Sony.

4. Fresh reinstall of a virgin Windows 7.

First save all your files to the external drive.

Then insert the Win 7 re-installation DVD in the drive and run it. Do a complete install. All the malware (virus) on the computer will be wiped clean and there will be no problems on the Win 7 DVD.

If you do not have the Win 7 DVD, start in safe mode and then try to get rid of the malware.

Another option is to download Win 7 and then use your validation code.

Will it be genuine OS after using my Win 7 Key? And how do i get all those sony applications which came along with preinstalled OS?

Yes it will be genuine.
Sony applications? Maybe they can be downloaded from Sony.com. Maybe.
The only other real way would be whatever factory Restore functionality they have, as noted above.

I know only 2nd option and everyone says that.Yes,there is an option to recover all data to dvd's.I haven't made recovery DVD before. What i'm asking is,do viruses also store on DVD if i make recovery DVD's right now?

Can you please explain the option 1 step by step..:)

Option 1: Some manufacturers have a Restore partition living on the drive. This is used to bring it back to how it came from the store. The specific steps are in your users manual.

Option 2: No...creating those disks should NOT carry a virus with it. Probably.
EDIT: By creating the factory Restore disks, NOT a Windows (or any other) backup
