Laptop external sound solution

Hi there

My laptop has problem with sound that cannot be fixed . Is there an external sound solution that i can buy ? it would be better if it has mic and audio ports

The least expensive solution I found was the Generic USB 2.0 Mic/Speaker 5.1 Audio Sound Card Adapter for $4.05 (I don't think I'd recommend that one) and there probably is no ceiling on price ($2000+).
I'd think the Asus Xonar U3 for $40 should work better as a solution

i will save it and try and look around this area , i have a monitor with onboard sound so its ok while i am at home , i am trying to have sound while on the move or outside
