price is irrelevant as they are offering both

After receiving it:

How do I have a user on an internal hard drive and make it work on a brand new laptop?

I have the hard drive of a laptop which has my files, installed programs and settings. I got a new laptop as a replacement and I want to make this user active on the new laptop hard drive. I was thinking of getting my sisters laptop and temporarily putting this external hard drive inside. I could then do a clone from her laptop to the new laptop which will result in the new laptop having my user with my settings, installed programs and files.

My next option is to do a back up and restore which might not work.

My final option is to take out the internal hard drive of the new laptop and put in the hard drive of the old laptop inside but that will result in outdated drivers or outdated firmware bios or maybe an outdated OS.

Zinstall or maybe acronis.

Solution
best bet would be to clone it.

also for the laptops I cant really tell if one or the other would be better unless you told me what your going to use the computer for and what you expect from it.
