I have an insignia 39' tv that i use as a moniter for my custom built pc. It used to work just fine but after having switched motherboards (yesterday) it is no longer using the full screen to display an image. it says it is in 1080p in my personalization but it is not using all the screen realestate. the model is ns-39l240a13 and my system specs are
-Amd fx 6300
-Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2.0
-XFX radeon r9 270x
-WD caviar blue 500gb hd
-8gbs corsair vengeance ram

Solution
How much real estate is not being used? If it's an inch or less all around the screen, check your graphics control program to see if you have any overscan/underscan options to adjust. If it's a lot more than that, then your graphics card is not outputting 1080p.

Buy a 1080p monitor, it's much better for gaming. You'll have lower input lag, much greater pixel density. stay around the 24 inch mark for 1080p gaming on PC
