hp vs lenovo for programming

Hii there I need some help in making a choice for my new laptop. I'm programming in vb, netbeans. I use virtual machine for linux, and currently i am doing 3d game programming with dark basic pro and occasional use of blender. I have narrowed to 2 choices however the lenovo the graphics card is not good, but the hp it is, the battery life in the hp is ok, but the lenovo is over 7 hours which is a big + ; Also is it possible to install a new graphic card in the Lenovo, i'm not sure which to choose, here are the specs for both; Thank you :

Well you are comparing an ultrabook to a regular laptop. So there are a lot of differences.

The ThinkPad gets better battery life partially due to the low power "U" model CPU; I think it is rated at 17w. The HP uses a "QM" quad core CPU which is pretty powerful, but also not energy efficient. I think it is rated at 47w.

The ThinkPad comes with a 1600x900 screen while the HP only has a 1366x768 screen. Personally, I prefer a 1920x1080 screen. The more you can see on the screen the better especially if you multitask. I have a 14" Lenovo laptop with a 1366x768 screen. While I find it to be fine for playing games, for anything else it is a bit low. The more data I can see on the screen the better. Just received my own HP Envy 15t-j100 Quad Edition, 8GB, 1TB, w/DVD, no backlit kb, std LED screen, and yes, the price was awesome. BUT, I'm chagrined to find some major lapses. e.g., there are NO customer access panels on the back of this laptop! Other than the battery removal levers, there's just a mass of screws to remove. I can only hope that will give me access to the memory upgrade area and, hopefully, I'll also find the second SSD area waiting to be tapped. What a shock; HP's manual and web site do not acknowledge this even exists. Also am having wild Windows 8.1 problems with ALL of my external HDDs, up to 3TB. 8.1 will NOT display the disk in Explorer, even though the Eject utility sees it is there. Man, oh man, this is not looking promising. In short, you may want to reconsider the 15t-j100 Quad Edition unless you've got the stomach for some aggravation. Mine was drop-shipped from China, direct to my home. Sort of surprising to me, but maybe I'm living in the past.
