Hi,

I've a asus x53sl that only works with a esternal monitor. if i start with the laptop screen when it enters the windows the laptop turn off.
If i turn the laptop on with the backlight power of the lcd off it boots normally. can anyone give a hint of want can it be? Already tried another inverter and another lcd. so its a problem with the motherboard or with the cable that connects to the laptop screen.

thanks!

regards,
Luís

so, the lapton only works fine if the own laptop screen is off. for example, i turn on the laptop and close the cover. he boots to windows with no problems. when i open the cover and the screen lights on the laptop shuts down. I've tried to boot with the lcd backlight connector off and it boots.

In order to work with the external monitor, the laptop screen screen have to be off.

Will the laptop screen work for any length of time, by itself, without the external monitor connected?

Did you try any of the screen setting??

1.There is a function key among your F keys, with 2 monitors on it.

2.If you right click the desktop and choose settings with XP, or Screen resolution with 7, you can set the monitors.

if the laptop screen is on, it boots, but when the windows logo appears and is entering the OS it shuts down. As i said before, if the laptop screen is off and with a external monitor the computer works just fine.
