I have brand new MSI GT60 laptop with GTX870M ,i7-4800MQ CPU and 8gb ram.

There is a random 2-3 second freeze every few minutes while i am streaming videos. they don't play smoothly at all .
Also every 10 -20 minutes.. Mouse stutters and then goes back to normal... it wouldn't have moved or clicks would not register.... mouse will move shaky like its under heavy load ...

i have tried the following
1. i have updated all the drivers video, network, sound.
2. Tried a different browser (both Firefox and Chrome).
3. Used the killer cleaner and installed the pure drivers.
4. Tried the killer package from MSI support page, recovery disc and the version from Qualcomm site.
5. Gave up and installed a brand new windows 8.1 as a secondary boot, same issue.

Seriously i don't know what other options i have

should i try updating the Bios and Vbios ??

Apparently i don't have any issues when i am gaming :bonk: .. i played Final fantasy ARR for like 2 hours with no issues (temps were 90 without turbo and 80 with turbo).

This particular issue could not be a temp thing, since it starts right from the moment i switch on the laptop.

This is very annoying, please help me out. should i send it for repair? ... if i do send for repair .. i don't know if they will actually find the issue.

Solution
let's do some basics first to make sure nothing is in the way with any solutions we try to provide

Download and run SPECCY, copy and paste the first tab to show your idle temp
Download MSI Afterburner and write down the temps you do actually get IN GAME (it will display at the top) and up to the point of crashing. Also having it show CPU and GPU % usage will help narrow down that it isn't one side or the other choking.

This will reaffirm you 'belief' with facts on what the actual system is doing, if there is any odd bottlenecks and what temps (laptops notorious for running hot)>

Remove whatever AV your using and go to www.filehippo.com and download Comodo or AVG (AVAST! been hacked so I don't recommend them anymore) and do a full...

Remove whatever AV your using and go to www.filehippo.com and download Comodo or AVG (AVAST! been hacked so I don't recommend them anymore) and do a full system scan - this repeatedly has resolved alot of people issue relying on MS Essentials and Norton tends to get in the way of alot of programs it seems.
Download Malwarebytes do a full system scan (AV doesn't pick up alot of malware) - this resolved almost ALL other similiar posts to date as most had Malware the AV didn't pick up.
Repeat the AV/Malware scans till the system comes up clean.

Did you install all Windows Updates? Including options except BING? Check them and repeat till ALL are installed.
Download and run Slim Drivers, install all the latest updates but you don't need to reboot until you do the last update
Once these are out of the way (as said they resolve 90% of the time) then you can remove the video drivers, download Driver Fusion or 3DGuru's Driver Sweeper to really remove Nvidia components, reboot and you will be in VGA mode, then download and reinstall the latest drivers.

Let us know the results of all these steps, 90% of the time just these steps along resolves ALL the issues.

Idle temps are 49 - 53.
Temps while gaming 90c but with my turbo speed on my fan , it reduces to 80c. There was no throttling.

As far as software, i have installed a new version of windows 8.1 and only installed some minor softwares (like video driver, network driver, firefox, flash player) .. still having this issue.. not sure could be a hardware issue i guess

That your spiking that high isn't good, and sounds like you may need to can air out the vents and do some maintenance on it if you get the service manual to disassemble it.

I was very SPECIFIC in my steps. Please follow EACH one and reply with results after each, especially AV and AM software - full scans. ONE response about ONE point isn't a result, we would best be served if you FOLLOW EXACTLY as outlined to make sure what your are seeing we can 'see' with the information your providing us. Thanks.
