Alright so the topic is pretty forward but I suppose I can reiterate the label here. I am looking for a laptop that has considerable processing power (say one that has at least 4 cores and is around 3ghz or higher if possible). It must have no less than 8 gigs of ram but would prefer 16, and it must not have a dedicated graphics processor (This isn't a gaming laptop, and I feel the GPU is an unnecessary expense. The reason for this set preferences is I need a laptop I can compose my music with when I'm away from home and visiting family or traveling. As such, I need a lot of processing power and a lot of RAM but do not need nor will I ever use a graphics processor beyond the integrated like an Intel HD.

Size is unimportant. It just needs to be portable, of course. Big or small doesn't matter.
Due in part to the fact the size doesn't matter, neither does the resolution of the screen.
Battery Life isn't all that important either.
I do not, as stated above, intend to game on it at all. It is strictly for processing instrument samples.
It may from time to time be used to bounce video from Premiere and audio from Pro Tools but the video aspect will happen rarely if at all.

As far as storage is concerned, it needs to have at least a 1tb built in HDD for sample storage. I do not require SSD's. Also - USB 3.0 is very important as I use it to stream samples on external drives. It is fast enough for my requirements. SSD's are an unnecessary expense.

I honestly do not care where I get it from. I am more than capable of repair and maintenance on it, so where it comes from isn't a big deal. Though if it is possible to get it from a manufacturer that doesn't load it with bloatware, that would save me a few hours of annoyance.

An optical drive isn't that important, if it has one, awesome. If not, it won't kill me. So long as it has USB3, I should be fine.
As far as brands are concerned, I don't care. I will likely not require help from them after the product is in use. I can manage all technical support myself or go through people I trust.

I live in the continental US.

If any other information is needed just let me know. I've been looking and haven't been able to find any manufacturers that put CPU and RAM high on the list and forget about the GPU. I could just be overlooking and will continue, but help would be awesome. Thanks.

I also forgot to mention I do not have a budget. I am aware that a powerful CPU, large quantities of RAM and large drives can be expensive and am fully aware of this. Assume that the budget is very high, beyond 2k if so necessary.
