Hi,

Im looking for a laptop, however i am terrible with Mobile CPU's and Integrated GPU and what and what not to avoid etc, so i will just tell you what i need from one, it would need to have pretty good battery life, like 5-6 hours or so since im using it in uni.

*Would be able to run any word processing and maybe image editing (Not concerned about this, a toaster could to this)

*Generally be nice to use, no lag on applications.

*Maybe a little gaming, would be nice to have portability when gaming etc, i have a gaming pc but its nice to get off the chair and move around a little :p.

My budget? I would like it ideally around £750. £820 is about the ceiling.

Oh, and i am going to sleep now so i wont be able to reply, best answer gets best answer in the morning :p. I am a MASSIVE AMD fan...However...I would like an intel, never had an intel above pentium and it would be nice to try out intel. :)

Thanks.

I would get the lenovo thinkpad t540p

http://shop.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/thinkpad/t-series/t540p

Go to the first model which says £745.19 and choose select. Here are the customizations I recommend

Pick the following options:

Processor: Default (i3-4000M)

Operating System: Default (Windows 8 64)

Operating System Language: Default (Windows 8 64 WE MUI)
Microsoft Productivity Software: Default (None)

Display: Default (15.6" HD (1366x768) With WWAN)

Memory: Default (4GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600MHz SODIMM). Upgrading the ram through lenovo is a bad deal in genearl. You can buy a 4GB ram stick for £29 eruo versus spending £52 to upgrade to 8 ram through lenovo. Upgrading the ram is not hard for most people and as long as you have...

You can buy a 4GB ram stick for £29 eruo versus spending £52 to upgrade to 8 ram through lenovo. Upgrading the ram is not hard for most people and as long as you have a proper screwdriver for laptops and a good video guide or you can see the t540p manual pdf online at the lenovo website

Keyboard: Default (Keyboard with Number Pad - UK English)

Pointing Device: Default (ThinkPad TrackPad No Fingerprint Reader)

Camera: 720P HD Camera (Add £12). You can get the option with no camera but it might come in handy if you skype or chat with friends.

Battery: 9 Cell Li-Ion Cylindrical Battery 99.9Wh (Add £15.60). I would highly recommend this because it gives a good boost in battery life. However it makes the computer somewhat heavier. The extra to spend on this is worth it

Power Cord: Default (65W AC Adapter - UK)

Wireless: Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260AC with Bluetooth 4.0 (Add £12). You will get better wifi connectivity and better internet reliability. This is important especially at a university where hundreds of people are connected to the internet at any given time. This will give you the advantage. The extra is worth it.

Total : £784.79

Whats nice about this computer is that it is made for travel so it can withstand pressure and damage a good amount
