So I have Bose AE2 headphones. I've had these headphones for around three years, and I've had to purchase a replacement cable recently, as the old cable broke.
Thing is, my headphones aren't working properly still; they only play out of the right earphone.
I'm using this wire (bought from a different vendor for $18, which I have never used before. I've juggled the wire around to see if it's just not forming a proper connection, and this doesn't appear to be the case. I could be wrong, however.
If the cable isn't broken, something is broken on the left earphone. I've taken apart the headphones (partially). It doesn't seem as though there's any disconnected wires; there are four wires soldered to a chip, and each of the wires appears to be properly soldered. The wires going to the left headphone from the chip also appear to be connected properly, as far as I can tell. I've moved the latter wire around, and it hasn't reacted.
So, what's the problem? How can I fix it? Please help!
Note: I don't have the income to purchase a new pair of headphones of a similar quality until the winter, so please do not suggest this. If I can't fix these headphones for next semester, I won't have good headphones for several months, possibly a year.
