My needs are pretty simple. I just want a laptop than can handle casual gaming (I don't really care if the graphics are maxed out or anything), programming, schools, movies, music.

Not really anything hardcore, but I am on my laptop quite a bit, so long-lasting would always be nice. My budget is around $600 and a back-lit keyboard is always a plus.

I'm currently looking at:

Thank you for your legitimate suggestion. I've been working on finding a good fit for me for a good 15 hours now. I'll check yours out.

I check the forum once every few hours.
I recommend something better because thread openers ask us for the best product - and because you people haven't researched / don't know enough you then suggest the wrong ones - the only ones who are affected by this are the OPs who if they actually took your advice would just be seriously annoyed.
if you actually posted appropriate suggestions (not necessarily the best ones) - then there's no problem - I wouldn't be quite so aggressive.
though I've also been annoyed recently since people have been trying to make automated answers - they keep messing up giving out equally bad recommendations that I have to then correct.
but when for whatever reason you just recommend a laptop without knowing how well it serves the OP's purpose then I do get annoyed because its just lazy.
