I have the M1330 with the LED backlit display and the nvidia graphics card. One day I was watching a video full screen and all of a sudden it went totally dim, as if the backlight went out. Ordered a replacement and was sent a "compatible" LG screen (Original was a Toshiba). Changed it out. Turning on the laptop, the backlight is clearly on, but no BIOS displayed or splash screen. Then windows loads and I am able to see everything on the display fine except the brightness cannot be adjusted down. Updated every driver I could find; BIOS, video driver, quickset. Nothing worked. Connecting the HDMI out to my tv I can see the BIOS/Splash on startup.
So I tried connecting the old, original screen. Still dim but I can see the BIOS/Splash if I shine a light on the screen. So I had them send me another replacement screen. Connected it and still the same problem of not being able to see BIOS/Splash and can't adjust brightness.
Pretty lost here since I have one screen that is dim, able to display the BIOS screen, and another screen that works perfectly except it won't display BIOS and can't adjust brightness
