Hi everybody, I need help abut a corrupted .doc file. I supect it got corrupeted after a bad save. It consisted in about 45 pages of plain text, arial 12 and very basic and minimal layout/format options (standard page, no tables, no images, no footnotes or headers, page breaks, nothing. just plain text. Open office doesn't open the file. when word tries to recover it, the file shows, after half the first page, or so, that text has become what i think is the translation of binary code.
I found out the problem should be in the word i was using, i switched to open office. I had similar problems in the past, and solved them quite well deleting part of the code that substituted my text, and recovered 99% of it. This time that's not working. I tried opening the file with open office, no succes. I tried with the recovery mode of word, i get half of the first page normally readable and formatted, then this:

Opening the document with word pad gives the better outcome, similar to the notepad but with end of lines.
I had a similar problem in the past, a corruption in the same point in a previous version of the same file. I managed to solve, by then, deleting some of the code, which gave me back my text, and formatted quite correctly. I then created a new file, and proceded working on there, but then it got corrupted like this. This time this process doesn't work. I tried some word recovery program, but with no success. I can't find any autorecovery file, it seems that the folder I created to store them got deleted (no clue how, certainly not by me), word got back to the standard folder, but it's empty.

Opening the document with word pad gives the better outcome, similar to the notepad but with end of lines.
I had a similar problem in the past, a corruption in the same point in a previous version of the same file. I managed to solve, by then, deleting some of the code, which gave me back my text, and formatted quite correctly. I then created a new file, and proceded working on there, but then it got corrupted like this. This time this process doesn't work. I tried some word recovery program, but with no success. I can't find any autorecovery file, it seems that the folder I created to store them got deleted (no clue how, certainly not by me), word got back to the standard folder, but it's empty.
As in the clichè, i really need to recover y text. No need for format and such, just the plain words. Many thanks to anyone helping
